Travelling around the Amalfi Coast can be a problem, especially for those travelling by car.
The main cause of traffic is the narrow windy road “statale 163” which leads to Amalfi, Ravello and
Positano.
However the same negative characteristic is also one of the strong points of the coast as it is part of the
wonderful scenery which this region of Italy is famous for.
The best way to get around the Coast is by sea. Amalfi is well connected to Naples and Salerno and with the inauguration of “Metro del Mare” it is possible to reach Cilento and the bay of “Baia Domizia”.
From Amalfi you can take a direct ferry to the islands of Capri and Ischia and Positano.
